    Founded in 1958 as Muldoon & Horgan, Muldoon, Horgan & Loughman, LLP has been engaged in the practice of law for over forty years. The firm, which now consists of the partnership of Edward D. Loughman, III and Eileen Songer McCarthy, is located in New Rochelle, New York.

     Muldoon, Horgan & Loughman, LLP is engaged in the general practice of law, representing individual, corporate and governmental clients in a variety of areas. While the firm's emphasis on trust and estate law has been constant throughout its existence, the current partners practice in a variety of areas.

    Edward D. Loughman, III devotes approximately sixty percent of his practice to litigation and the balance to real estate, trust and estate, adult guardianship and general practice. His litigation practice includes personal injury; trust and estates, such as contested probates, discovery proceedings, kinship and accounting proceedings; real estate litigation, such as landlord-tenant, partition, boundary disputes, riparian rights and foreclosure; commercial litigation, and appeals. Mr. Loughman has published articles on diverse subjects, edited other authors both on the Fordham Law Review and the Westchester Bar Journal, lectured to the Bar and taught courses to the general population.

     Eileen Songer McCarthy's practice focuses on trust and estate administration and litigation. Ms. Songer McCarthy often represents fiduciaries in routine estate matters, guiding them as they are appointed, helping them as they collect and value estate assets, assisting them in the preparation of both estate and fiduciary income tax returns, and preparing them to properly account, either formally, or informally, for their actions as fiduciary. However, she also represents clients involved in adversarial proceedings in the Surrogate's Court. She has assisted clients in having lost wills admitted to probate and improper wills denied probate. She has successfully contested and successfully defended fiduciary accountings. Ms. Songer McCarthy also engages in the general practice of law which includes assisting clients in real estate transactions and Article 81 guardianship appointments .
